Why is Nordic’s shell different?

Nordic’s shell is made of a thermoformed, matte finish, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) which is the most indestructible shell material available in a portable spa. This durability, along with the beautiful matte finish in 10 color options, makes it the product of choice for discriminating buyers with value in mind. HDPE has a greater tensile strength of acrylic, the plastic most other hot tub shells are made with. Our shells are so strong they do not have to be reinforced with resins and fiberglass like acrylic shells. Due to this strength, Nordic Hot Tub shells carry a Lifetime Warranty! Other products using HDPE include truck bed liners, kayaks, chemical containers and high-end coolers. It is the easiest shell material in the industry to care for! Nordic Hot Tubs can effortlessly be cleaned with a soft cloth and most household cleaners, such as simple green, glass cleaner or vinegar & water. If needed, a soft bristle brush or a magic eraser can be gently used.

What’s the best way to fill my hot tub?

The best way to fill your hot tub is to fill it through the filter canister. We have 2 types of filter canisters, one has a floating weir and the other has a filter basket. If you have the floating weir: pull the weir and basket up and out of the canister and then turn the filter counter clockwise to remove it. Set both the filter and the weir aside in a clean location. Have the water turned on so it is flowing through your garden hose. Put the hose down into the center of the filter canister and let the hot tub begin to fill. Check it periodically as you do not want the water to overflow. Do not attempt to start your hot tub until the water is at least 2 inches above the top of the filter housing. If you have a filter basket: turn it until the straight side areas on the basket line up with the straight area on the collar, lift gently to remove the basket and the filter. Set the basket and filter aside in a clean location. Looking down into the filter canister, you should see the filter cartridge (a round object white with blue or orange/red edges). Have the water turned on so it is flowing through your garden hose. Put the hose down into the center of the filter cartridge and let the hot tub begin to fill. How do I know which size tub to purchase?

The most important question to answer is, how many people do you want to seat in your new tub? Most seating sizes range from 2 to 8 people, with 4 to 6 people being some of the most popular sizes. Are you looking to entertain friends and family or do you want a couples' sanctuary? Do you have a large family or have the kids grown and it is just you and your spouse? These questions can help you decide how many you are looking to seat. Another key factor on choosing the right size is deciding where the hot tub will be placed. Do you have any space constrictions or limitations? Hot tubs come in many shapes and sizes so it is recommended to pick out the spot to place your new hot tub and measure the area before visiting a showroom. Knowing how many people you want to seat and the space available where the hot tub will be placed help to make your decision on what size to purchase an easier one. How do I remove and clean my filter cartridge?

We recommend cleaning your filter cartridge every 4 - 6 weeks or, at a minimum, twice a year. Nordic Hot Tubs has 2 types of filter canisters, one with a floating weir and the other with a filter basket.  You will have to remove them to locate your filter cartridge. If you have the floating weir: pull the weir and basket up and out of the canister, setting it aside in a clean location. Reach down into the filter canister and turn the filter counter-clockwise to remove it. If you have a filter basket: turn the basket until the straight side areas on the basket line up with the straight area on the collar, lift gently to remove the basket. Set the basket aside in a clean location. Reach down into the filter canister and lift it straight up to remove it. Either clean the used filter by spraying it with a high pressure hose or replace it with a new one. Click here for a Step by Step Guide to Deep Cleaning Your Hot Tub Filter Cartridge.
